Hamilton Place offers the ultimate
in performance standards to audiences and performers alike. The
spacious, lushly appointed building is world class in its scope
and design and provides a distinctly flexible venue for a broad
range of theatrical and non-theatrical productions.
The mainstay of Hamilton Place is the Great Hall - one of North
America's most expansive, acoustically superior halls. It is
unique in that it functions as a proscenium theatre and concert
hall, and is specially designed to deliver optimal acoustical
results for each of the performing arts, providing clarity and
brilliance for both the spoken work and musical presentations.

The Great Hall's most differentiating feature
is a retracting 6,500 square foot stage which can be mechanically
adjusted to provide two stage formats: one is forward and allows
concerts to be played within the Hall itself; the other allows
drama to be performed behind a proscenium.
The expanding/contracting stage provides flexibility in seating,
as well, at the orchestra and forestage levels as seating within |
these areas is either added or
removed according to the stage size and format required for
individual performances.
Renowned for its broad international appeal, Hamilton Place also
serves a multitude of tastes within the community and is home to
Opera Hamilton, The New Hamilton Orchestra, The Bach Elgar Choir,
and The Geritol Follies. |
