Frequently Asked Questions

What if I cannot attend one of my performance dates?
As a subscriber, you are entitled to exchange your tickets for a different performance of the same production up to 48 hours prior to the opening performance. Any difference in ticket price will be payable to the Box Office. You may even choose to watch the performance in another city.

You may exchange your tickets in person, by mail or by fax.

Single ticket purchasers may also exchange the tickets based on availability.

What if I simply cannot attend a performance?
If you are unable to find family or friends to enjoy the show in your place, you may return the tickets for a tax receipt in the amount of the ticket value. Tickets must be received by the Box office at least 48 hours prior to the performance.

What if I lose my tickets?
As a subscriber, your tickets are insured. Please call our Box Office in advance of your performance date and we will replace them for you. For last minute losses, you will receive a seating voucher from the Ticketing Desk upon presentation of identification.

How can I buy additional tickets for a performance?
Please contact the Box Office by phone or in person with your requests. All orders are processed in the order that they are received. The sooner you request tickets for family and friends, the better their seats will be.

What are the ways I can help support Opera Ontario?
Opera is the most expensive art form to produce. Ticket sales cover only a fraction of the costs, so we rely on the generosity of opera lovers to keep our prices affordable. Please consider supporting the opera by donating to our annual giving programs. Friends and Director’s Circle members enjoy special privileges and benefits depending on your gift level.
For further information in Hamilton, please contact Jennifer Archibald at 905-527-7627 x 234.
